Briones Regional Park, near Martinez, CA, is one of our favorite local areas to ride. It has a miles of trails which pass through a variety of
environments and habitats, including grasslands, oak forests, pine forests, lagoons, fern glens, etc.
The park has several staging areas for hikers and equestrians. Our favorite access is on Reliz Valley Rd., just south of Alhambra Valley Rd. (just
outside the Martinez city limits).
Some areas of the park have troughs for horses and cattle, and there is drinking water provided at most of the staging areas.
