Dan's Parade Costume |

Dan's costume is black vinyl with black and silver checkered ribbon trim. The bottom
edges of the body costume and the edges of the facemask are studded with hundreds of silver nailheads.
Large costume jewels appear in the hanging spades.
Willis' costume consists of black sweats covered by a silver colored quilted vest. Lace up boots covered by "Gators" make up the leggings. Patterning the horse costumes was a challenge. We first made patterns out of construction paper and tailored them. Then we cut costumes out of felt and tailored them. Then we cut the vinyl and glued the felt to the vinyl provide more substance and to act as a lining. The jeweling (studs, jewels, etc.) was added over the years when we found these things on sale at local craft stores. |
