It's not that uncommon to see a team of horses and a wagon around our parts. A number of drafters live
in the immediate area.
It was ironic that Don Mello's mare, Molly, and our gelding, Dan, were a perfect match. We went in "halves" for an Ione hitch wagon at the Turlock Draft Horse Sale and until the cost of insurance got prohibitive, we spent a number of hours taking the team out on the road... a most exhilarating yet relaxing experience.
