We always liked seeing the jousting horses at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire
in Novato, CA. Since we usually entered some horses in a parade or two
each year, we figured why not use the drafters and go with a midevil theme?
(Of course we didn't realize how much work was involved in making the horse costumes!)
We dressed up "Dastardly Dan" the Belgian as a war horse and "Havilynn the Horrible"
as a rather large lady's mount. It was a challenge making all the costuming work,
especially in the wind, however the struggle was worth it. The crowds loved the midevil
theme and we could count on coming home with a "first place" in our division.
