LONG RIDER'S MELODY
Music by Willis Lamm, words by Gene Glasscock © 2004 - - - I'm just a long rider who is traveling down the road. With my horses as companions and they gladly share the load. We ride along and share our song of love and of God's good grace. Hoping in some way to make this world a better place. Oh I've ridden through the Arctic cold and in the jungle heat. And when the fruits of life were scarce He made the lemons sweet. I rode the plains in sun and rain when no relief I'd see. Spring or fall and through it all He took good care of me. As we ride the journey long, new places yet to see I will sing the Long Rider's melody. I have no way of knowing what this old world holds for me. But I'll travel along knowing there's a whole wide world to see. And through it all I hear the distant calling of my name. We'll saddle up and hit the trail, a new day ahead to tame. For in the dawn we'll journey on, our future yet to see. And I'll sing the Long Rider's melody. Onward we go, yes onward we go. When the sun goes down we will rest. Through deserts hot, and the mountains with snow. When I look around I can see that I have been truly blessed. Oh this world is full of wonders and a few of them I'll see. Helping hands in distant lands have been wonderful to me The journey calls and once again we'll saddle up and ride. I'll do my best to serve this quest to which I must abide. For around the bend my trail may end when the Good Lord calls to me. Until then I'll sing the Long Rider's melody. Until then I'll sing the Long Rider's melody.
