"Sundance"

Sundance was given to us by a neighbor. He was a late teenage palomino thoroughbred who spent his life working cows as a ranch horse. He was blind in one eye, but when riding him you'd never know it. We did have to be careful when leading him around, though, because he would literally walk where we led him, which included walking into gate posts and the like if we weren't careful.

Sundance was at his best when working cows. A good, loose rider could be assured a jackpot when penning with him at the local roper's barn. He didn't like paddock life, though, and thought trail rides were pretty boring.

His owners had originally retired him thinking him a little old for ranch work, but that's what he liked and so after a few months in "civilization", we gave him back, his previous owners returned him to the ranch where he seemed most content with his old familiar routine.
