Maynard learning to carry a pack saddle,
Wild Horse Workshiop '98

Maynard's mom Maggie was adopted by an elderly gentleman at the 1991 Walnut Creek, CA adoption. The following June she had Maynard. Their original adopter had health problems so we agreed to take them in until we could find a home for them. Shortly afterward we became inseparable and they are now a permanant part of the KBR herd.

Maynard shares a pasture with a big leopard Appy, a Belgian drafthorse and his best friend, George, an old Shetland pony. Maynard and George rough house all day long. Maynard also likes to run around with a stall ball and smack all the horses with it.

Another Maynard trick is to grab the leadrope whenever a horse is being haltered in the pasture and run around the pasture leading it... including Dan the draft horse who trots along mildly puzzled but content to follow Maynard's lead.

We've been on Maynard although we're kind of heavy to be riding a donky and he can carry a pack saddle.
