"Apollo"

Apollo

"Apollo" was captured at 6 months of age in November of 1995 from the Paisley herd of Christmas Valley (Lake County), Oregon. We got him in November 1999 from his adopters that spoiled him rotten. He currently lives in Blodgett, Oregon with us, Rachel & Josh Towne.

He is a beauty and acts as spoiled as he looks. If he even hears a bucket of grain or the word treat he is right there nibbling at you and sticking his head in the bucket. You have to be careful, if he nibbles and there isn't a treat he will mistake your finger or something in your pocket for one and bite right down. He is pretty calm, but like I said, SPOILED.

He stands well for the farrier, but will lean all of his weight on him and bend back to almost sitting position if he can reach a treat or what he thinks is a treat from his pocket. He just gets a trim because his feet are strong and hard.

He is a breeze to catch and a gem with anyone around him. He will literally follow us around just like our dog. He loves our 1½ year old daughter, as well as the kids who play near his field. They can go over to the fence and he is the first to come give them hugs and nibbles, looking for treats I'm sure. He is calm and doesn't spook at much, just the unknown monsters that lurk in the path to the barn. He's got a great horsenality and we hope he will grow to be the perfect horse for our daughter when she gets old enough to ride. He is our spoiled pet--a keeper for sure!
