Bandit was originally adopted by a trucker in Arizona along with a mare named Judi. Kirren
Dolan, Johnny's sister, was getting Judi for her birthday and Bandit ended up being
part of a "package deal," so 12-year old Johnny got an early birthday present.
Bandit's original adopter was gone most of the year that he had the horses, so they
weren't very tame when the Dolans took them home. Judi mellowed out pretty quickly but
Bandit was a little harder to tame. Johnny was able to groom Bandit after a couple of
months and before the Dolan's moved to their current farm, Johnny could halter Bandit.
Bandit is large boned with a bit of a warmblood appearance with nice conformation. He has a sweet temperament
and is very sensitive, very responsive to "whoa!" Johnny and Kirren are moving slowly
with Bandit and they have ridden him in the arena a few times.
Johnny wants to train Bandit for western pleasure trail, and since Bandit is really
good at those stops he might be tried at some reining. Johnny will show Bandit 4-H
this year but it remains to be seen if Bandit is solid enough to be ridden in a crowd
or will be shown in-hand,
