Mustang Close-Up

"Cyrano"

Cyrano at 4½ Mos.

Cyrano was born 5 May 98. His dam is a Navajo Mustang branded -N on left shoulder, Sire is an unknown Navajo Mustang.

Cyrano was born shortly after his dam was bought by a lady to save her from slaughter. The dam was with a band of mares who were gotten pregnant so that they would bring a higher price. They were sold for slaughter as meat for European tables while they were far along in pregnancy. Cyrano's dam changed hands a couple of times then Monica was asked to take her foal at age 6 1/2 weeks. Monica gave 5 bales of hay for him, a used bit, and a pair of boots. He's now a resident of Rancho del Lobo Loco.

Cyrano is quite a gentleman and has grown from a thin little munchkin into a well-muscled shiny yearling who will be available for feed-lease as 4-H or FFA horsemanship project after he's gelded.
