Tish Sweetalla reports:
Gambler was originally adopted by Donald Butler of Temple, Ga. in April
1992. I bought Gambler from him in May, 1998.
His name is Gambler after the country he came from, and he was foaled in 1989
on NV Wild Horse Range 525, near the city of Goldfield, Nye County, Nevada.\
The Goldfield region consists of high desert between Carson City and Las Vegas.
It's a hard land and the horses from this area are smart and tough.
He was captured on January 27, 1992. His freezemark number is 89534903. He is a
Bay with a star, strip and snip.
Donald shared some interesting things about Gambler with me.
Donald said that when he went to the auction he wasn't sure wether to adopt
or not. He was looking at all the horses and as he walked up to Gambler's
pen, all the other horses ran to the other side away from him. Gambler came
out from behind all the others and walked right up to him, nudging him. He
knew then he was going to adopt him. He took him home and started working
with him and within 2 weeks had him on the trail. He never bucked or
resisted in any way. He sold him only due to health reasons.
Since I have owned him I can honestly say he is the
GREATEST horse I have ever owned. He is very sure on the trails, and isn't
afraid of new territory either. I have used Gambler for charity
purposes,(raising money for school PTA, etc.), and have also used him in
therapy for children with CP. He is indeed the Dream Horse for me. He
completely trusts me and I put all my confidence in him as well. He has
proved his ability time and time again.
