Mustang Close-Up

"Gypsy"

Gypsy was adopted in 1987 at the Tampa satellite adoption. She was so hairy and so bossy her nickname was "Magilla Gorilla".

Gypsy shedded out quite nicely. The image does not adequately show off her many dapples.

The Ferguson's vet considers Gypsy to be a "claybank dun."

Pictured at right is John and Gypsy at the Lake Park horse show.

At Tampa, 5 couples in the area adopted horses at the same time and started the Wild Spirit Mustang Club, which later came to be known as the Free Spirit Mustang Club. The members helped each other out through the gentling and training process, sharing trail outings, forming a parade unit, etc.

The photo on the left shows John, Gypsy and the group coming back from a swim in the Little Manatee River.
