"This is Lovelocks Mariah or Mariah for short. Mariah is from the Seven
Troughs HMA near Lovelock in Pershing county, Nevada. She was born in
June of 1999. Mariah came from an area that was burned during the fires
of "99" here in Nevada. She was captured in October and the mares and
foals were so thin and poor that BLM weaned them right away to give all
a better chance at good health.
"I believe such an early weaning was hard on Mariah's emotions and she
was still quite thin when we got her home. She is very sensitive and
intelligent. We are taking many pains to gentle her without any force
as she tends to be skittish. She is very athletic and will make a great
working horse someday. We just love her."
