Mustang Close-UpSierraHi! What's up?Sierra was foaled in April, 1993 and was captured at the age of five months near the town of Goldfield in Nye County, Nevada. She and a "band mate", "Ramses", a colt the same age, were adopted by Jane McBride of Calif. Jane moved to Texas and found herself more involved with goats and llamas. Suzanne traded three goats for Sierra. By then she was 3 and had some professional training. Hanging with the goatsSierra presently stands just under 15hh and will probably make that height when she matures. She has a very nice "metronomic" trot which is her best gait. She just recently discovered she can canter (with a rider on top). She's been on trail and has gone over some cross-country jumps which she loves. Suzanne reports that the first time she took her to her instructor's arena, Sierra checked out the fences and cavalleti as if to say" OK, I can jump these too... let's go!" Her bones and joints are still growing, so Suzanne is bringing Sierra along slowly. Suzanne's instructor loves Sierra "because she's so calm and willing."
