  Econolite Neon Exposed Tube
DON'T WALK - WALK Signal

For years I looked for a properly functioning Econolite neon exposed tube DON'T WALK - WALK pedestrian signal and I managed to get one that appears to have come from the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Altadena Drive in Pasadena. What makes this pedestrian signal especially cool is that if its provenance is accurate, it witnessed many a Parade of Roses.

The signal uses three neon tubes. Two clear tubes (that shine red) display DON'T WALK. Behind the red WALK tube is a frosted tube that shines green that also displays WALK. The green tube shines through the red tube when the red tube is not lit.

The views below show the layout of the transformers and the tube cases.
