Exercising Body AND Mind

Gentling Wild Horses;
"Horse-on-Horse"

Part Two

As the horse's skill and ability progress, it's time to move into some more confining situations and also ask the horse to stop in tight areas and cope with what's happening thoughtfully and quietly.

These "controlled stress applications" are designed to exercise the horse's natural coping mechanisms without pushing her beyond her emotional capability.

Stopping on exiting, not racing out
These horses have not only become desensitized to horses and riders, but they also have improved their maneuvering and handling skills.
