  WORKING FROM THE SADDLE

Since Pequiño processed the ground driving portion without breaking a sweat, it was time to do the evolutions from the saddle. First Alan moved the rope all over Pequiño while underway to get him to process the stimulus.

Next Alan backed Pequiño to the barrel, then he roped it and dragged the barrel in lazy figures such as circles and figure eights.

Once Pequiño was working well, Alan was able to safely introduce the unexpected such as causing the barrel to flip or move awkwardly toward the horse.

Pequiño stayed calm and after the session Alan's 10 year old daughter took him for a ride.
